HOT OFF THE PRESSES

I just received an email from Dr. Del late last night and this is what he has to say about some new features coming to gabbr:

"I have created a new section called My Tools:

Bookmarks are back and I added an AutoGabb button as well..."

If you haven't already done so by this point, you definately need to stop by gabbr.com there are some really big things happening over there.

It's official Gabbr has unveiled it's new design. Nice sleek user interface that even the youngest of Internet users can manipulate around with ease.

The good doctor has been hard at work putting the finishing touches on the design, so go to http://www.gabbr.com to check it out.

There are some side projects that are being worked on behind the scenes. As of right now they are just in it's planning stages check back here often because you'll hear it first.

As for right now the podcast has been placed on hold as a change of creativity has occured meaning that another direction will be taken that I beleive will make gabbr even more popular. Details will be posted as they become available.

Gabbr News 03/13/06

Oh wow!

It's hard to beleive it has been over a month since the last update. I myself have been battling a flu like illness for the better part of that month.

However, I am happy to report that more changes are in store for the gabbr website. The good doctor (Dr. Del) has been hard at work at creating a whole new user experience. I've seen the new design and I am very excited in the enhancements that have been done and I think the users old and new will benefit from it as well.

As of this particular posting there was a tentative goal to have the new design unvailed sometime next week, but as you can imagine that as well as everything else in life is always subject to change.

Our initial podcast for the website is back to it's planning stages. I am hoping to be able to have time alloted with the Del, so that he could make the presentation to the masses on his vision of Gabbr. However, our schedules have not exactly coinside with one another, but hopefully we'll be able to get together to get a podcast done and released to the masses over at iTunes and podcastalley.com

Some major anouncements in the Gabbr front:

1. THE DAILY GABB WILL GO LIVE ON FEBURARY 14th, 2005. That's right ladies and gentlemen, starting this Valentines day you will be able to listen to yours truly deliver all the hottest stories being posted and blogged about on The Daily Gabb. This will be a 10 - 15 minute recap of everything gabbed about.

2. The site is currently under the a complete redesign. The design will be done completely in AJAX. This new design will allow for new and enhanced features that will allow for faster access to the content on the Gabbr.com site.

3. Gabbr.com will have commercials posted live on various peer to peer file sharing networks. These 30 second audio commercials will outlined all the features currently available using the Gabbr site and will soon be making anouncements for contest and other special promotional information as they become available.

I realized I noted that I would make only weekly updates but this is an important update.

If you look on the left side of the blog, you will see an icon with the gabbr.com logo upon it. If you click on that icon, that will take you immediately to the gabbr.com page.

There you can easily create an account and be a part of the gabbr community.

In an effort to maximize our overall marketing strategy we will be informing potential new users to the gabbr.com service with some of the exciting new features and services that we are currently working on as well as discuss those already implemented currently on the website.

For those who are not currently familiar with gabbr.com it's a web 2.0 social news community where you are the journalist. The service is absolutely free, and you can create an account that allows you to post news stories from all over the world as well as local news events happening in your neighborhood.

Some of the features currently being implemented on gabbr are:

RSS feeds (weblogs, podcasts, video casts, etc)
Private forumsNews feeds (CNN, Google News, Reuters, etc)
Blog feeds
AJAX searches for articles and feeds
Private messaging service so you can contact other gabbr users

We are in the process of constructing a internet podcast dedicated to the service. Tenatively it's being called "The Daily Gab" or "The Weekly Gab" the frequency of how often these podcasts are going to be produced has not been completely worked out but the minute the podcasts are available a formal anouncement will be made.

I will be updating this blog on a weekly basis, keeping everyone advised to all the exciting changes and updates that are occurring. We are always looking for suggestions and ideas that will improve overall user experience of gabbr. If you have an idea or suggestion to make gabbr better we would love to hear them and you can post those suggestion directly on to the gabbr forums.
